Terms of Service
Last updated: July 27, 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
DocFather is operated by IT Nest Limited, a private company limited by shares registered in the Hong Kong SAR. These terms are an agreement between you and that company.
IT Nest Limited, Office 3906, 39/F, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong (BRN 77297048)
Contact: support@docfather.com
By using the service you accept these terms. You must be at least 16 years old, and able to enter a contract where you live.
2. The service
DocFather provides document tools on docfather.com, in the @DocFatherBot Telegram bot and, where it is available, in the DocFather iOS app: PDF operations, format conversion, electronic signing, AI features and document storage (the vault).
Some tools never involve our servers. The JPG to PNG, PNG to JPG, JPG to WEBP, WEBP to JPG and HEIC to JPG converters run entirely in your browser, and the file is not uploaded anywhere. Everything else uploads your file, processes it and returns a result, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may add, change or discontinue features. If we retire something you are paying for, we will say so in advance.
3. Accounts
The free file tools work without an account. AI features and the vault need one. On the web and in the app you can sign in with Google, with an email address and password, or with a one-time link sent to your email. The Telegram bot is a separate account of its own, tied to your Telegram profile rather than to an email address.
You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure. One person may not run multiple accounts to collect the welcome bonus repeatedly.
4. Credits
- PDF operations, format conversions and signing are free and cost no credits.
- AI features, translation and vault operations cost credits. The price is shown before you run the operation.
- New accounts receive a one-time welcome bonus of 500 credits.
- Credits do not expire, however you obtained them, and they stay on your balance if you cancel a subscription.
- Most operations are charged when they finish, and a failure on our side is not charged. AI editing and translation are priced by size and charged before the work starts, because the work is expensive to begin; if the operation then fails, the credits go back automatically.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts or exchanged for money.
- We may change credit prices. A change never affects credits already on your balance, and the current price is always the one shown before you run an operation.
5. Subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold on the web through Stripe and in the iOS app through the App Store. Prices are the same on both. There are four plans:
| Plan | Price | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| lite weekly | $2.99 | 250 credits every week |
| lite yearly | $34.99 | 12,000 credits upfront |
| pro weekly | $5.99 | 625 credits every week |
| pro yearly | $89.99 | 30,000 credits upfront |
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Weekly plans bill and top up every week; yearly plans bill once a year and grant the whole year's credits immediately.
- You can hold one subscription at a time. Upgrading tops up the difference between the plans.
- Cancelling is done where you bought it: through the billing portal linked from your account page for web subscriptions, or in App Store subscription settings for the app. Cancelling stops future renewals and keeps the credits you have already received.
- A free trial is offered only in the iOS app, lasts 7 days, and grants one week of the tier's credits.
6. Refunds
- Purchases through the App Store are refunded by Apple under Apple's policy. If Apple refunds or revokes a purchase, we remove the credits it granted from your balance, and the balance does not go below zero.
- For purchases through Stripe or Telegram there is no automatic refund. Write to support@docfather.com and we will look at it case by case, taking into account how much of the purchase you have used.
- Credits refunded because an operation failed are returned automatically, as described in section 4. This is a credit refund, not a money refund.
- None of this limits any statutory right of withdrawal or refund you have where you live.
7. Usage limits
These limits exist so the free tools stay available to everyone. They can change, and we will keep this list current:
- Rate: 20 operations per hour without an account, 60 per hour when signed in.
- File size: up to 300 MB for file tools, 100 MB for signing, 50 MB for AI features.
- Pages: AI features accept up to 300 pages, and AI editing up to 50.
- Batches: up to 20 files to merge, up to 50 images to combine into a PDF.
- Vault: 5 documents and 50 MB on a free account, 100 documents and 500 MB after any purchase, 500 documents and 2 GB once you have bought 5,000 credits or more.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use DocFather to:
- process or store content that is illegal where you are, or that infringes someone's rights;
- remove password protection from documents you do not own or have no permission to unlock;
- forge signatures, or create documents intended to deceive;
- upload someone else's personal data without a lawful basis for doing so, which matters particularly for the CV and HR tools;
- probe, overload, scrape or disrupt the service, work around its limits, or resell access to it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we may refuse an operation.
9. AI output
AI features produce automated output that can contain mistakes. Generated documents, summaries, contract analyses, extracted data, translations and text recognised from scans are drafts and information. They are not legal, financial, tax or professional advice, and no lawyer-client relationship is created by using them.
This matters most where it is most tempting to skip: an NDA, an invoice, a receipt, an employment document or a contract analysis produced by our tools must be read and checked by a person before you rely on it, and by a qualified professional when the stakes justify it. Recognised text and translations can be wrong in ways that look right, particularly for numbers, amounts and dates. Check them against the original.
10. Electronic signatures
The signing tool places your signature image on a document. It is not a qualified or certificate-based electronic signature. Whether such a signature is legally sufficient depends on the document and your jurisdiction, and some documents, wills and notarised deeds among them, require another form of signing. Confirming that an image signature is acceptable for your purpose is up to you.
11. Your content
You keep all rights to the documents you upload. You grant us only the technical permission needed to process them and, for the vault, store them on your behalf, including passing them to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy for the operation you asked for. We do not use your documents to train AI models and we do not permit our providers to.
12. Availability and liability
The service is provided "as is". We work to keep it fast and available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we are not liable for a file you did not keep a copy of. Keep your originals.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Changes and termination
We may update these terms, and the date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be announced on this page. You can stop using the service at any time, and delete your account by writing to support@docfather.com from your account email. We may terminate this agreement or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 8.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Hong Kong SAR, and the courts of the Hong Kong SAR have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. If you are a consumer, nothing here deprives you of the protection of rules that cannot be departed from by agreement in your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
15. General
If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a company that takes over the service. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about DocFather.
